One of the most notable high-end auto brands in existence is BMW. There are few people who don’t know the name and association with auto manufacturing, luxury, high prices, and high-performance. For those not familiar, the initials in the logo stand for Bayerische Morton Werke AG. The company also makes motorcycles, in addition to automobiles, and was founded in 1916. But when it first began, until 1918, it produced aircraft engines. It also did this for a stint in the mid-30s to the mid-40s.
While their motorcycles are marketed under the Motorrad BMW brand, Rolls-Royce, Mini, and BMW apply to their automobiles. With well over 2 million vehicles produced, BMW was the 12th largest motor vehicle producer in 2015. Motor vehicles are produced by BMW in Mexico, the United States, the United Kingdom, South Africa, India, China, Brazil, and Germany – though they are headquartered in Munich. A significant motorsport history is held by BMW, particularly in The Isle of Man TT, sport cars, Formula 1, and touring cars.

THE UGLY SIDE:COMMON BMW CAR PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED
BMW owners love their BMWs. But there can be little doubt that the company has experienced a handful of drawbacks in the past. Here are some of the problems commonly faced by BMWs:
One of the most notable BMW recalls involved models from 2007 to 2012 numbering no less than 136,000. In November 2016, engine restarting and engine stalling issues were resulting due to a fuel leak possibility stemming from fuel pump wiring issues.
In South Korea, 106,000 diesel vehicles were recalled by BMW in 2018. The problem here was that almost 40 engine fires had been caused by an exhaust gas recirculation module that was defective. The recall ended up including more cars in Europe and extended from 106,000 to 324,000 vehicles.
In 2011 X6 ActiveHybrids, as well as numerous xDrive models, it was found, ran the risk of excessive wear on the driveshaft’s universal joint. This was discovered to be from debris and water entering it and could result in the failure of the joint. Eventually, if not taken care of, a crash could result.
