General Motors is an American multinational corporation that was originally founded by William C. Durant. As the largest automobile manufacturer in the U.S., they produce vehicles in 37 countries and has an annual worldwide sales volume of 10 million vehicles in 2016. The company started out as a manufacturer of horse-drawn vehicles back in the 1900s. Durant was not too keen on automobiles but was convinced by fellow Flint businessman James H. Whiting to purchase the Buick Motor Company.
The General Motors Company was later on formed as a holding company and procured Buick, Oldsmobile, Cadillac, Elmore, Oakland, Rapid Motor Company, and the Reliance Motor Truck Company of Owosso, Michigan.

The Ugly Side: Common General Motors Car Problems Encountered
General Motors has been around since 1908 and the company has had its ups and downs through the years. The customers also have had many issues throughout the huge variety of brands and vehicles that the company has released. Some of its common problems include:
The Chevy Bolt’s battery cell had problems that prompted a recall for the affected 2017 models. The sensors are at fault where they tend to malfunction and give false readings of the battery life.
Among crossover vehicles, the Buick Regal TourX is one of the nicest to look at. The only thing that seems to be off is that the vehicle seems to be so loud than it should possibly be.
Upon inspection, the cause of the problem is pointed out to be the tires. The company is aware but they do not seem to address the problem since they still continue to sell the car without changing anything to reduce the noise level.
For the GMC Acadia, there are power issues that should be addressed as there are complaints about an underpowered base engine and transmission. The towing capacity is so low, way below the industry standards for the SUV’s size.
There are also customers complaining about stuck ignition keys, premature wearing of the belt, and problems on the air bag light indicators.
